The last few days had opened his eyes to it all, watching the life being sucked from his friends. Watching them disintegrate into the footpath.
He felt nothing.
They weren’t friends. There are no friends. Only him.

As he jumped he knew nobody would catch him. Stop him.
And nobody would notice.

The burden of worrying began to disappear from Noriko’s eyes as her charring skin softly started to blow away in the cold, gentle breeze.

Where the fuck are they?
Yoshi was drunk. His night was terrible from the beginning.
Lack of success in finding a girl had left him frustrated. Fighting in bars had left him bruised, and too many “my rounds” had left him broke.
Maybe it was time to go home
Home would never be where the heart was.
The human heart, in fact anything resembling humanity, was dead. Just lies and promises. Meaningless words to comfort enemies.
There is no home.

The city had an empty feeling to it.
Yoshi, Shouhei, Daichi and Kenta were in their usual spot, waiting for the Universities to break for lunch, but there wasn’t even a person in sight. “Time flies when you’re having fun I guess” Yoshi mumbled to himself, “but is it a holiday today?”
The city had lost it’s color, it’s excitement. Even his friends had an unhealthy glow about them. He felt like an outsider to his friends today. Like a strange inner dialogue only they could hear was being transmitted.
I need some cigarettes he thought to himself.

Noriko couldn’t sleep.
The flicker of the reception-less TV made her apartment glow a dizzying, sickly blue color and filled the room with static, but she dared not switch it off, she needed it’s distracting, hypnotic comfort.
Insomnia had hindered the ability for her to think clearly, but at this stage, she knew the city was empty.
Making her way home the last few days, she had noticed, more and more doors were taped up. A warning.
That face. That horrible face. Those black soulless eyes, raping her very being, and discarding it like broken pieces of glass.

Loneliness.
As the rain falls steadily onto the empty street, Yoshi makes his way past the park he used to hang out in, drinking cheap convenience store whiskey and watching girls nervously walk past.
A shadow of it’s former self, the beauty of the trees recently stripped of their vibrant autumn color, stains of the deceased, burnt into the ground like road lines. Yoshi knew these marks too well. He saw it happen.
But he couldn’t hear their voiceless cries.

More in regards to my fan-fiction.
Hello.
My fan fiction will probably be split between multiple posts.
It's a fractured storyline that jumps back and forth between characters and times over 2 days, so I think it will be good to post it as such.

From Japanese 法 (nori) "law, rule" or 典 (nori) "code, ceremony" combined with 子 (ko) "child".
Junior office worker.
Setting: Tokyo, Japan.
Duration: 2 days.
Feelings displayed within characters: Loneliness, depression, anxiety, fear.
Thinking to use aspects of their name meanings to reflect in other characters roles, but we’ll see.
